THINK before you speak

Stage 2 have been focussing on thinking about our words and how they can impact on others. We have been using the acronym THINK to shape the way that we use our words. It's been challenging! We are learning to use our words to build each other up.

Learning about Angles

Year 3 have started learning about different types of angles. 3S and 3B worked together to make some examples of angles. An angle is the amount of turning between two arms.

Right angle: an angle that has 90 degrees of turns between the arms. We found right angles in lots of objects in our classrooms.

Obtuse angle: an angle that is bigger than a right angle.

Acute angle: an angle that's smaller than a right angle. It's little and cute!

Stage 2 have been learning about sustainability in HIGE and Science and Technology. Mr Coote gave us a challenge to conduct a sustainability audit of Inaburra School and write a proposal of a change that we could make to make our school more sustainable. Year 3 conducted their audit on Wednesday - we found lots of things that Inaburra is already doing to be sustainable! We also discovered some areas that we could improve in. As an added bonus, we got to enjoy the sunshine and spend time walking around different parts of the school that we don't usually get to see.

More Design Challenges!

Some of our Year 3 students formed teams to see how tall they could design a tower made only from 20 plastic cups. The winning towers were over 140cm tall! We learnt how towers must have stable bases or they will fall down if they get very tall.
